Yesterday I completed my first interview with young entrepreneur, Emil Motycka.
He has owned and operated one of the nation’s most successful lawn mowing services for more than half his life. I’ve known Emil for almost a year now and he’s one of the most humble people I’ve ever met.
His entrepreneurial career has been speckled with incredible achievements and I’m ecstatic he agreed to be a part of this book.
Emil’s Entrepreneurial Highlights:
- Started mowing lawns when he was 9.
- Ranked as 55th most successful young entrepreneur by YoungBiz when he was 11.
- Was featured in Entrepreneur Magazine when he was 13.
- Took out an $8,000 loan when he was 13.
- Won top honors at the Celebration of Young Entrepreneurs when he was 18.
- Netted over $135,000 as a senior in high school when he was 18.
- Sold the business to pay for college when he was 18.
- Started again when he was 19.
Currently…
- Senior at University of Colorado.
- Business valued at $200-300,000.
- Directly or indirectly employs 65 people.
I’ve learned a lot from Emil in my time talking with him. I’m excited to see how many people he can inspire and help through this book.
Thanks Emil,
Nick
